OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF CANADA
On May 1, 1998 Celine Dion received the title of "Officer of the Order of Canada" (an honour for merit) from the Governor General of Canada, Roméo LeBlanc, during a ceremony wich took place at the Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Canada. Celine was accompanied by her husband, Rene Angelil. On March 26, 1998 the Governor General of Canada, Roméo LeBlanc, announced the appointment of singer Celine Dion as an "Officer of the Order of Canada". Celine was appointed to the Order on January 6, 1998 for her outstanding contribution to the world of contemporary music. The Queen of Canada was the Sovereign of the Order which pays tribute to Canadians who exemplify the highest qualities of citizenship and whose contributions enrich the lives of their contemporaries. The Governor General was Chancellor and Principal Companion of the Order. Appointments were made on the recommendation of an Advisory Council, chaired by the Chief Justice of Canada. Since 1967, more than 3,600 Canadians have been appointed to the Order. The insignia of the Order is a stylized snowflake bearing the crown, a maple leaf and a Latin motto, desiderantes meliorem patrium, or "they desire a better country".

On May 9, 1998 Celine Dion appeared on the cover of the famous magazine "Le Lundi", published in France. The photo of the cover and another one also published on this edition, were taken from a special photo session made by Celine to help promote the theme song from the film "Titanic", "My heart will go on".

ON TV SHOW
On May 12, 1998 Celine Dion appeared on the famous American daytime television talk show "The Rosie O´Donnell Show", hosted by actress and comedian Rosie O´Donnell and broadcasted on Syndication channel in USA. Celine was interviewed by Rosie and she talekd about her golf commercial, her birthday party and her appearence at the Academy Awards ceremony as well as the performance of "My heart will go on" that night. After the interview, Celine performed the song "To love you more" with Taro Hakase on violin. During the show, they also broadcasted footage from an sketch of Celine made by comedians from the late-night television sketch comedy and variety show "Saturday Night Live".
