GRAND SLAM FOR CHILDREN CONCERT
On October 1, 2005 Celine Dion performed at the "10th Grand Slam For Children", a benefit concert wich took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA just after Celine´s perfomance at the Colosseum of the Caesars Palace with the show "A New Day...". The fundraiser, presented by Genworth Financial, benefits the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation established in 1994 to assist underprivileged children. The foundation has raised nearly $50 million since the first Grand Slam event. During the concert, Celine performed "Love can move mountains". She also spoke during a press conference before the concert in the afternoon. Celine´s participation also makes her the rare Las Vegas-based performer at the benefit. She first sang at a "Grand Slam" in 1997, long before "A New Day..." debuted in March 2003. Mary J. Blige, Duran Duran, Earth, Wind & Fire, Glenn Frey, George Lopez, Robin Williams and other artists also performed at the concert. Some of the performers also featured backing by music producer David Foster and an orchestra. After the concert Celine was photographed with Barbra Streisand and with Usher.
LES 500 CHORISTES ENSEMBLE SPECIAL
On October 9, 2005 Celine Dion taped the 3rd edition of the TV special-concert entitled "Les 500 Choristes Ensamble", wich took place at the Television Studios of Plaine Saint Denis in Paris, France. The show was hosted by Flavie Flament and it was broadcasted on November 5, 2005 on TF1 channel. During the show, Celine, accompanied by the chorus, performed "L´envie", in duet with Johnny Hallyday. Then, and also accompanied by the chorus, she performed "Je ne vous oublie pas", "Pour que tu m´aimes encore" and "S´il suffisait d´aimer". Marc Lavoine, Isabelle Boulay, Patrick Fiori, Amel Bent, Garou, Roch Voisine, Serge Lama, Natacha St. Pier and many other artists also performed at the show. The show was seen by over 7.8 million people. It´s an audience record.
