ON MAGAZINE
On August 4, 1984 Celine Dion appeared on the cover of the famous magazine "Echo Vedettes", published in Quebec, Canada. They published an article with photos about the concerts Celine gave on past July 29 and 30 at the Vieux Port in Quebec City, to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the discovery of Canada by Jacques Cartier.


ON VACATIONS
In early August 1984 Celine Dion took little vacations of just two days in Quebec City in Canada where she dedicated to rest after the concerts she gave on past July 29 and 30 at the Vieux Port in Quebec City, to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the discovery of Canada by Jacques Cartier. Celine was accompanied by her parents Adhémar and Thérèse as well as with some friends and her manager, Rene Angelil. French songwriter Eddy Marnay also was there. He suprised Celine when he came from france to attend the concerts she gave at the Vieux Port in Quebec City. Celine visited Maison Serge Bruyère (the restaurant of Serge Bruyère) and there she was photographed with Rene Angelil, her wife Anne-Renée, Gilles Petard (from Pathé Marconi), François Reny, Marc Chatelle, Serge Bruyère and Diane Rény (François´ wife). Some photos from the vacations were published by the magazine "Echos Vedettes" on August 12, 1984.




LAUNCHING EVENT
On August 22, 1984 Celine Dion launched the new album titled "Mélanie", at a launching event wich took place at the Le Portage room in the Place Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During the event, Celine performed the the title track "Mélanie", written by Eddy Marnay and dedicated to Celine´s little niece Karine, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Eddy Marnay gave a speech in wich he talked about this new album of Celine. Then, Claude Mouton, from the Association Québécoise de la Fibrose Kystique (AQFK) presented a new poster for the campaign of that year, featuring Celine and Karine. Celine´s entire family and her manager Rene Angelil were there. Even the famous singer and songwriter Peter Pringle was invited to this event. Celine was photographed with Peter Pringle, Diane Juster, Marguerite Blais, Rene Angelil and Eddy Marnay. Ruth Groc, from the famous confectionery "La Nötre" in Montreal, also attended this event. She gave to Celine some treats from the shop.
