CONCERTS IN LONDON
On November 1, 1995 Celine Dion performed at the Wembley Arena in London, England with the "D´eux Tour". According to The Independent (a British national morning newspaper), Celine appeared to the English people on Wednesday night of November 1 from under a cloud of purple smoke, her arms spread wide, welcoming the audience into her bosom. She reeled off the opening lines of "Think twice", her biggest hit in UK (and one of the few people could sang along to, what with her new album being in French) but held the song proper back until the encore. Then, Celine leaned toward the audience for a chat, clasping a hand over her heart with all sincerity. "When I was younger," she giggled conspiratorially, "I used to dream of being a singer and I used to take a hairbrush and use it as a microphone. That´s right!. I used to practice singing in front of the mirror with a microphone", Celine told. And next she wanted to tell to the audience about her recent marriage. "It´s marvellous!" she announced. Then, Celine broke into a medley of cover versions. "Dance!" she commanded. Then "River deep, mountain high" is performed. People have got to acknowledge the slickness and precision of her arrangements, enormous, crashing drums, a chiming gospel piano, a wave of harmonies that people could surf on. At the end of the concert, Celine said "I feel so at home".
