CONCERT IN TINLEY PARK
On August 11, 1996 Celine Dion performed at the New World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, USA (one of the fastest growing suburbs south of Chicago), with the "Falling Into You Tour". According to some reviews, promptly at 9:00 p.m. Celine graced the stage dressed in a snappy white pants suit, and with a husky voice belted out the tune "The power of love". After few comments about her 1996 Olympics experience she let loose with "Seduces me". Everyone was still sitting. It wasn´t because the people weren´t enjoying the show, their applauds sent quite the opposite message. The crowd just didn´t feel like standing. Celine even treated the audience to no less than four songs entirely in French. Celine sang for a little over an hour and a half hitting many of her hits from "Falling Into You". Then, she disappeared for a short break. Returning for her first encore she was accompanied by a 30 member choir in fule.

CONCERT IN DALLAS
On August 16, 1996 Celine Dion performed at the Reunion Arena in Dallas, USA with the "Falling Into You Tour". According Dave Ferman from The Fort Worth Star-Telegram (a major U.S. daily newspaper serving Fort Worth and the western half of the North Texas), this is one those concerts that people will always remember. Celine´s performance before around 11,000 people that night at the Reunion Arena was not that different in form than that of plenty of other major pure pop singers, from Michael Bolton to Whitney Houston. Same reliance on the big hits, same pacing (about two ballads to one uptempo number), same carefully rehearsed stage patter, and so on. It´s simply that Celine is better at this sort of middle-of-the-road arena show than most of her contemporaries, both because her big, rich voice is used with an uncommon amount of taste, and because the entire production (the staging, the sound) is assembled with such simplicity. This was a comfortable night of familiar, sweet pop songs, tailor-made for conservative radio listeners who don´t rock, as such, but by that yardstick it was done very well. Celine did a couple of songs in French and a rather weak version of "River deep, mountain high" that probably wouldn´t worry Tina Turner a bit if she heard it, but on the ballads,  from the new "Falling into you", to all the old hits, including "Where does my heart beat now" and "If you asked me to",  she was outstanding at recreating her recorded vocals. And if her stage movements and between-song patter were a bit corny (and they were) she offset this, to a large extent, with a shinning, sweet personality. The Corrs, four Irish siblings (three gorgeous women and one guy), opened the show with a pleasant mixture of traditional Irish songs and mainstream pop. The pop songs display Andrea Corr´s voice to good effect, and as many feature her tin whistle playing and Sharon´s violin work, the fusing of the two genres usually comes off exceedingly well. The end of the 30-minute set, a romp through the traditional Irish instrumental Toss the Feathers, was received with a standing ovation.

LAC ST JEAN TELETHON
On August 24, 1996 Celine Dion took part at the "Lac St Jean Telethon", to raise money to support people in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada due to the torrential rains of July 1996, wich caused the worst flood in the province´s history. Celine´s appearance was via satellite from the Circus Maximus Showroom (one of the most famous Vegas style showrooms) in Las Vegas, USA, where she was performing with the "Falling Into You Tour".
