ADISQ GALA
On October 13, 1991 Celine Dion took part at the 13rd Gala de l´ADISQ Ceremony, the trophies for the Canadian music industry, also known as the Félix Awards. In May 1991, ADISQ announced that it had redefined the category which was linked to the controversy of Celine (when Celine refused an ADISQ award the past year). The category for anglophone artists would become a category for Quebec artists who perform in a language other than French. This change was the focus of a story which appeared in the Montreal Gazette under the headline "Awards Show Drops Category for Anglos". Although conflict, it is interesting to note that a lack of conflict involving Celine was taken to be the most important element in stories about the ADISQ gala during October 1991. During this gala, Celine received another Félix and one special prize from "L´union des artistes" (Artists guild). Celine also performed the song "Le blues du businessman". Her manager, Rene Angelil, and Luc Plamondon were there with Celine. After the ceremony, Celine was photographed with the Canadian pop singer, Julie Masse.
