FELIX LECLERC HOMMAGE CONCERT
On August 6, 1997 Celine Dion took part at the Félix Leclerc, Le Géant Québécois, an hommage concert to Félix Leclerc, a French-Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, writer, actor and Québécois political activist who died on August 8, 1988. The concert was an initiative by the famous French singer, Charles Aznavour. It took place in Montreal, Canada and it was aired onTVA channel in Quebec and on TV5 channel in France. Celine performed the song "Bozo". Other celebrities included Charles Aznavour, Gilles Vigneault, Jean Lapointe, Maxime LeForestier, Marie-Jo Thério, Robert Charlebois, Lynda Lemay, Claude Léveillée, Raymond Devos, Favreau, Julien Clerc, Serge Lama and Claude Dubois. The concert was produced by the Fondation Félix-Leclerc.
AN INTIMATE CELEBRATION CONCERT
On October 4, 1997 Celine Dion performed at the "The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation Annual Gala", a benefit concert wich was entitled this year "An Intimate Celebration". The concert took place at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, USA. Celine performed with Elthon John, Warren Wiebe, Lionel Ritchie and Clint Black. The musicians were David Foster and Greg Phillinganes (Keyboards), Nathan East (Bass), John Robinson (Drums), Dean Parks (Guitar), and Dave Boruff (Sax). The concert was produced by David Foster and it was presented by Jay Leno on the TV show "Tonight Show", wich was broadcasted on NBC channel.
DAVID FOSTER GALA
On November 11, 1997 Celine Dion took part at the "TV Dinner Tune In With David Foster & Friends", an special show-gala honoring musician David Foster. The show took place at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, USA. Kevin Sharp, Barbra Streisand and other artists also were there. Celine, wearing a sexy golden outfit, performed with David Foster who was playing the piano. Celine and Barbra Streisand gave an special tribute to David Foster. Celine also performed the song "All by myself". At the end of the concert, Celine was photographed with vin Sharp, Barbra Streisand and David Foster.
ONE NIGHT ONLY CONCERT
On November 14, 1997, Celine Dion performed at the Bee Gees "One Night Only" concert, wich took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA. The Bee Gees performed their greatest hits from the past threedecades during this reunion show. Celine joined them to perform the song "Immortality". Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb, Frankie Valli, Olivia Newton-John, Chloe Lattanzi, John Travolta and other artists also performed at the concert. A CD of this concert was released on November 3, 1998 with the name "Bee Gees - One Night Only", and a DVD Video of this concert was also released on March 23, 2004 with the same name.
THE ROYAL VARIETY PERFOMANCE
On December 6, 1997 Celine Dion performed at the "69th Royal Variety Performance" Gala, wich took place at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London, UK. Des O´Connor hosted the gala performance before the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. Celine, wearing a sexy black dress, performed the songs "Because you loved me" and "The reason". The Spice Girls, Enya, Barbara Cook, Michael Bolton and others artists also performed at the gala. This gala-concert was produced by Nigel Lythgoe and directed by Trevor Brown. At the end of the show, Celine met the Queen. The "Royal Variety Performance" is a gala evening held annually in the United Kingdom, which is attended by senior members of the British Royal Family, usually the reigning monarch. The performance is a New Year´s tradition in Norway, where it is broadcast at 00:00 on January 1. Several other European countries also broadcast the show.
