That week, "Live À Paris" entered the chart on top position (her 3rd number 1 album in France this year), while "Falling Into You" (seven months after it entered the chart) was still at the 6th position and "D´eux" was still at number 16 (a year and a half after its release).
...> Critical Reception
Allmusic said that the album "...has more of a rock feel than any of Dion´s other live or studio albums" and "Dion raises the roof and proves just as adept with harder material as she is with adult contemporary ballads". According to them "this good live album from one of the biggest stars of our time serves to showcase her not only as a balladeer, but as a first-rate rock star".

...> "River deep, mountain high"
"River deep, mountain high", live version, was released as a promotional single from the album "Live À Paris" in 1997.
"River deep, mountain high" is a 1966 single by Ike & Tina Turner. Considered by producer Phil Spector to be his best work, the single was successful in Europe, peaking at #3 in the United Kingdom, though it flopped on its original release in the United States. A live cover was performed by Celine Dion on the famous TV show "Late Show Wth David Letterman" in 1994, which resulted in a studio version, produced by Jim Steinman, for her extremely successful 1996 album "Falling Into You". Celine performed "River deep, mountain high" at the Le Zénith in Paris, France in October 1995, during the "D´eux Tour". Then, it was included on the "Live À Paris" album and the song was released as a promotional single from this album in 1997. Later, Celine performed "River deep, mountain high" live on "VH1 Divas Live" concert in 1998 as the opening number of her part. She also performed this song from November 2006-December 2007 in her "A New Day..." show in Las Vegas, USA. The song was also part of her 2008/09 "Taking Chances World Tour", as well as her new Las Vegas show, "Celine". The promo CD contains only one song: "River deep, mountain high" [ live ].
