CONCERT IN LAS VEGAS
On August 12, 2012 Celine Dion performed at the Colosseum of the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, USA with her second residency show, "Celine". Since the opening night on March 15, 2011, Celine has been thrilling audiences at the Colosseum. This was the 100th performance of the show. Celine deftly dealt with a technical glitch in her 100th show. The mechanical platform that slides her pianist, Claude “Mego” Lemay, to center stage failed to operate properly. Celine looked offstage, toward stage right, and said, "It’s OK. Don´t stress", then turned to the audience and announced, "We are having a technical difficulty. You know how sometimes you have a wardrobe malfunction? Well, this is not a wardrobe malfunction". Celine´s voice was so spellbinding, it put the audience in a mood where stuff goes wrong and you really don´t care. Tacking on her 4 ½-year run with "A New Day...", Celine has performed more than 800 shows (823 after the performance of August 12, 2012) at Caesars Palace. The hotel used the 100th show to announce 29 additional performances from December 28, 2012 to March 16, 2013. As her masterful 100th show reinforced, Celine sets the standard for greatness among Strip entertainers. You don´t need to own a single Dion song to appreciate her sizzling James Bond medley (especially with her 31-piece orchestra soaring through "Live and let die") or the fail-proof "Titanic" classic "My heart will go on". After the concert, Celine celebrated the 100th performances of the show with the entire crew of "Celine".
