On March 1, 2009 at 9:15 a.m Celine Dion, accopmained with her husband Rene Angelil, arrived to the Mel´s Studios in Montreal, Canada to record a special gala with the contestants of the famous TV show "Star Academie", broadcasted that day on TVA channel. Celine talked few words with Julie Synder, the host of the show, and she also was in rehearsals with the contestants. Celine recived few gifts on her camerino.

The small studio where took place the show, gave it an intimate atmosphere. Celine really felt for all the contestants. During commercial breaks sometimes she talked to them. The show was hosted by Julie Synder. Celine was interviewed and they also broadcasted footage from Celine last show of the "Taking Chances Tour" and other footage from tour backstage moments. Celine performed a medley of her greatest hits with the contestants, wich included the songs "Ce n´était qu'un rêve", "D´amour ou d´amitie", "Unison", "Je danse dans ma tête", "Les derniers seront les premieres", "Because you loved me", "S´il suffisait d´aimer", "L´amour existe encore", "Taking chances", "I´m alive" and "Dans un autre monde". Celine also performed "My heart will go on" in duet with Brigitte, and "Pour que tu m´aimes encore" in duet with J-Philippe. The group, The Lost Finger performed a rare version of "Unison". During the song, Celine joined them singing. This was Celine last performance before her vacations for more than an year.

On March 21, 2009 Celine Dion appeared on the special benefit show "Ensemble Contre Le Sida" released in Paris, France and broadcasted on France 2 and on TV5 channels, which aims to raise awareness in hopes of curing AIDS. French stars from film, television, policy and music have announced themselves to the support of this great organization on Saturday evening, in the streets of Paris, as well as on many worth seeing places of the town, but also in historical buildings gathers around the television viewers to the donation to animate while they never before performed her biggest hits, but still belonged duets.
