CONCERT IN VANCOUVER
On June 7, 2007 was announced that Celine Dion had made a surprise appearance earlier that week in Vancouver, Canada at an international airline conference with 700 delegates. It was a private concert for Air Canada, the flag carrier and largest airline of Canada. Celine´s repertoire included "Fever", "You are so beautiful" and "What a wonderful world". In total, Celine belted out a six-song set, capped by "You and I", which was Air Canada´s theme song in the fall of 2004 (with the refrain, "You and I were meant to fly"). During her final song, large screens showed a video of an Air Canada plane soaring over downtown Vancouver. And, of course, it was a Boeing aircraft, because the evening was co-sponsored by Boeing and Air Canada. Boeing´s manufacturing archrival, Airbus, had numerous executives in the audience at the dinner organized by the International Air Transport Association. While Boeing executives were all smiles, the gang from Airbus had to hold their tongues. Gary Thomson and Douglas Workman, members of the Air Canada Corporate Security team, wrote, "We want to express our appreciation and gratitude regarding your services and role in assisting Air Canada with the Celine Dion event in 2007 at Vancouver. Your diligence, flexibility and professionalism was excellent. The Celine Dion Security Team commented on what they perceived as the best transportation services they have utilized". After the private concert, Celine met some fans and she signed them autographs.
