GRAMMY AWARDS
On March 1, 1995 Celine Dion took part to the 37th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony, wich took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, USA. They recognized accomplishments by musicians from the previous year. The ceremony was hosted by Paul Reiser and it was broadcasted live on CBS channel in USA. Celine was accompanied by her husband and manager, Rene Angelil. 17.3 million viewers watched the 1995 Grammy Awards.
ON TV SHOW
On March 24, 1995 Celine Dion appeared duriong the broadcast of the French Tv show "Nulle Part Ailleurs" (meaning "Elsewhere Nowhere"), created by Alain de Greef, hosted by Philippe Gildas and Antoine de Caunes, and aired on Canal+ channel in France. Celine was promoting her new French album titled "D´eux". She had a long interview with the hosts. Celine talked about her carreer and of course the new album "D´eux", written and produced by popular French singer and songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman. Goldman also was there, and he also was interviewed. According to Le Soleil, a French-language daily newspaper in Quebec City, Quebec, Celine did not gave the best interview of her career. She was rather uncomfortable in front of the caustic humor of presenters and Les Guignols de l´info (satirical latex puppets who comment on the news). A veil of misunderstanding has repeatedly covered Celine´s eyes, especially when the "puppet" of Patrick Poivre d´Arvor, star presenter of French TV news, has imitated the Quebec accent. Celine, accompanied on guitar by Goldman, performed live "Pour que tu m´aimes encore", the first single of the new album.
JUNO AWARDS
On March 26, 1995 Celine Dion attended to the Juno Awards Ceremony, representing Canadian music industry achievements of the previous year. The ceremony took place at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Mary Walsh, Rick Mercer and other regulars of the television series "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", were the hosters for the ceremonies which aired on CBC channel in Canada. Nominees were announced on February 1, 1995. Susan Aglukark and Jann Arden were among the prominent nominees this year. Almost 10.000 people were in the Coliseum for the event, over 6500 public tickets were sold, the remainder were from the music business. Leonard Rambeau, the long-time manager of Anne Murray, received a special lifetime achievement award. Rambeau died later that year of cancer. Celine was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, and she won two awards for Album of the Year with "The Colour Of My Love", and for Best Selling Album (Foreign or Domestic) with "The Colour Of My Love". Celine also performed the song "The colour of my love".
PRESS CONFERENCE
On March 28, 1995 at 7:30 p.m., in Montreal, Canada at the Studio 42 of Radio-Canada channel (from Quebec, Canada), a broadcast coproduced by Canada´s largest public network and MusiquePlus launched the new Celine-Goldman French album, "D´eux". After the taping of the one-hour TV special hosted by Véronique Cloutier, Celine, Jean-Jacques Goldman and Rene Angelil gave a press conference at the Studio 42 of Radio-Canada. Celine also met with a little girl named Julie, who gave flowers to Celine.
ON INTERVIEW
On March 30, 1995 Celine Dion appeared during the broadcast of a TV special dedicated to the release of Celine Dion´s album titled "D´eux". Veronique Cloutier interviewed Celine at the Westin Hotel in Montreal, Canada. This interview was part of the TV special, wich also featured Celine singing. The broadcast was at 8:00 p.m on the French Canadian MisiquePlus channel, and the next day on Radio-Canada channel in Canada.
ON PARTY
On March 30, 1995 Celine Dion celebrated her 27th birthday in a special party with family and friends which took place in Montreal, Canada. Celine was photographed with her husbad and manager, Rene Angelil and with her parents. The "Dernière Heure" magazine published several photos of this day. Celine received a lot of gifts including a birthday cake with a huge "Bonne Fête Céline" on it.
