"Mélanie" is a studio album by Celine Dion, released in Quebec, Canada on August 22, 1984. It´s her 7th French language album.

The title track was dedicated to Celine´s little niece Karine, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. The album became another commercial success, reaching gold in Canada and selling 175,000 copies. "Une colombe", performed by Celine for the Pope John Paul II and 65,000 of people at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada (1984) was also certified gold. "Mélanie" produced two top 10 Quebec singles in "Une colombe" and "Mon rêve de toujours", which peaked at number 2 and 4 respectively. There was also a third single released, "Un amour pour moi". The next year, Celine won five Felix Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Selling Album of the Year for "Mélanie". Later in 1984, Celine released her second album in France, called "Les Oiseaux Du Bonheur", which contained five songs from "Mélanie".

"Une colombe" (meaning "A dove") is the first single from the album "Mélanie". It was released in June 1984 in Quebec, Canada.
The single was a hit. On June 30, 1984 it entered the Quebec Singles Chart and reached number 2, spending forty four weeks on chart in total. It has sold over 50,000 copies in Canada and received gold certification. The song talks about a world full of peace, love and friendship. On September 10, 1984 Celine sang it for the Pope John Paul II and 65,000 of people at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec. "Une colombe" won also two Félix Awards for Best Selling Single of the Year and the Pop Song of the Year. It was featured on Celine´s 2005 greatest hits album "On Ne Change Pas". The vinyl single includes: "Une colombe" and "Une colombe" [ instrumental ].

"Mon rêve de toujours" (meaning "My everlasting dream") is the second single from the album "Mélanie". It was released in September 1984 in Quebec, Canada and in France.
The song entered the Quebec Singles Chart on September 22, 1984 and reached number 4, spending twenty one weeks on the chart. "Mon rêve de toujours" was also released as a single in France to promote Celine´s second album in that country called "Les Oiseaux Du Bonheur". The vinyl single includes: "Mon rêve de toujours" and "Chante-moi".
