On August 13, 2008 Celine Dion was photographed leaving the Ritz Hotel in Boston, USA. Celine was in Boston performing with the “Taking Chances Tour”. She was accompanied by her husband, Rene Angelil. Celine took time to sign some autographs for her fans.

On August 14, 2008 Celine Dion appeared on interview during the broadcast of a segment aired on several TV channels through the USA in wich Celine talks about her concerts in Boston, USA with the "Taking Chances Tour", the first ones in the USA with this tour. On August 15, 2008 Celine Dion was on backstage before a concert with the "Taking Chances Tour" at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. There, she met with Canadian singer and imitator, Véronic DiCaire, who did the opening acts for Celine´s concerts in Montreal.

TV SPECIAL
On August 15, 2008 Celine Dion appeared on interview during the broadcast of the TV special about the "Taking Chances Tour" titled, "Céline Dion: Loyauté et fraternité en Tournée" wich was aired on Musimax channel in Quebec, Canada. The TV special features an interview by Mike Gauthier with Celine, her husband Rene Angelil and many personnel of the tour, including the musicians. It was recorded at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, france on May 2008.

IN MONTREAL
On August 16, 2008 Celine Dion was at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada to perform with the "Taking Chances Tour". Before the concert, on backstage, were introduced to Celine the photos from the UNICEF project book and calendar titled “12 Héros Parmi Nous”, in wich Celine took part with 12 children. Celine watched each one of the pictures, placed as a picture gallery. There, she met with one of the boys, named Mario Lemire Junior.

On August 17, 2008 Celine Dion attended the first rehearsals for the upcoming 400th Quebec Anniversary concert, at the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City, Canada. These rehearsals took place at the Piccolo Studio in Montreal, Canada and featured the presence of the Dion family, Éric Lapointe, Zachary Richard and Dan Bigras. Celine´s husband Rene Angelil also was there.

On August 19, 2008 Celine Dion attended the third rehearsals for the upcoming 400th Quebec Anniversary concert, at the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City, Canada. The rehearsals took place at the Showmedia Studios in Montreal and featured all the musicians and the entire band. Celine´s husband Rene Angelil also was there.

ON MEETING
On August 20, 2008 Celine Dion met with the Mayor of the City of Montreal, Mr. Gerald Tremblay and Mr. Monopoly on backstage, before a concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada in in ocation to celebrate the Canada´s 3-city presence on the game board of "Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition". The game features Toronto, Vancouver and, in the coveted spot traditionally held by Boardwalk, the city of Montreal. It was released on August 26, 2008. Celine, her son Rene Charles, the Mayor of the City of Montreal and Mr. Monopoly were photographed together.

IN QUEBEC
On August 20, 2008 after a concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, Celine Dion and her family flew to Quebec to visit the incredible toy store Benjo and they were truly impressed. Celine, Rene Angelil and their son Rene Charles, along with a small group of friends and family, were allowed a private tour of the shop. Rene described it as "the best we´ve seen in the world". The family took advantage of a train-ride through the store and played with a robot. Celine also signed autographs on the helmet of a employed.

HONORED CEREMONY
On August 21, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. Celine Dion received a doctorate honoris by the Laval University, the oldest centre of education in Canada and the first institution in North America to offer higher education in French. The solemn ceremony took place at the Palais Montcalm in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Celine was honoured with a honoris causa doctorate in music and she also received two medals. The mayor of Quebec, Régis Labeaume gave an honorary medal for cultural merits for the city of Quebec to Celine and thus pay tribute to her commitment for her homeland. Celine and her husband, Rene Angelil also gave a press conference after the ceremony, where she said she didn´t get to go to school for as long as she would have liked to but that actually living in the real world is a great teacher but at the same time she is pleased her son Rene Charles is enjoying school. She also talked about how she faced big pressures in life and how she has coped with those and she talked about her pride in being involved in the upcoming 400th anniversary concert in Quebec. The entire event was broadcasted live on TVA and LCN channels in Canada.

These were the first rehearsals at the Plains of Abraham with the special huge stage already constructed specially for this concert, part of a year-long festivities to celebrate the founding of old Quebec City. Celine arrived to the Plains accompanied by her husband, Rene Angelil. There, she rehearsed the songs with the band and some of the invited singers, as Jean-Pierre Ferland and Ginette Reno.

On August 22, 2008 Celine Dion was photographed leaving the Château Frontenac Hotel in Quebec City, Canada where she stayed the night before. Then, she arrived to the Plains of Abraham to perform at the 400th Quebec Anniversary concert, part of a year-long festivities to celebrate the founding of the city. There, Celine reunited with her family to the final rehearsals. A trailer home was ready for Celine as a dressing room. Minutes before the concert, Celine was interviewed.

In August 2008 Celine Dion and her family attended to an special celebration at the private golf club Le Mirage in Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada in honour and to conmemorate Celine´s father, Adhémar Dion, who deceased in late 2003. It was an annual private party wich featured the presence of the entire Dion family and the Angelil family, along with closer friends of Celine and her husband, Rene. Everyone was wearing black and white T-shirts. The guests had a lunch, they even could play golf. At the end of the celebration, in the afternoon, the whole family reunited to throw black and white balloons to the sky. Photos of this celebration were published by the famous magazine "7 Jours" on August 22, 2008 in Quebec, Canada.
