Originally, Celine Dion recorded a solo studio version of this song for the greatest hits album "All The Way... A Decade Of Song", released on November 12, 1999. It was released as the lead single from the greatest hit album on November 1, 1999. "That´s the way it is" was written and produced by Swedish producers Andreas Carlsson, Max Martin and Kristian Lundin, who have written a string of hit songs for artists such as 'N Sync, Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. Celine sang "That´s the way it is" live with 'N Sync, during the CBS channel TV Special dedicated to the album "All The Way... A Decade Of Song" in 1999. "That´s the way it is" [ live ft. 'N Sync ] was released for promotional radio use only. There was no music video made for this song.
