CONCERT IN LAS VEGAS
On August 14, 2011 Celine Dion performed at the Colosseum of the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, USA with the residency show "Celine". This was the last concert, until Celine return to the Caesars Palace on December 28, 2011.
CELINE POUR LES ENFANTS CONCERT
On August 19, 2011 Celine Dion performed at the benefit concert, "Celine Pour Les Enfants", wich took place at the golf club Le Mirage in Terrebonne in Quebec, Canada. It was organized to support the Celine Dion Foundation. It was a private concert in wich Celine performed some of her biggest hits in French including "L´amour existe encore", "Ne me quitte pas", "On ne change pas" and "Love can move mountains". Véronique Dicaire also performed with Celine at the concert. The benefit event which included a day of golf at the Le Mirage and a gourmet dinner followed the show of Celine, has raised the sum of 3 million dollars for the benefit of the Celine Dion Foundation which supports children. Note that the sum of million dollars has been reached a last-minute donation. At the end of the show, Celine and her husband, Rene Angelil were surrounded by members of the Organizing Committee, for a photo taken by Judith Gauthier.
JERRY LEWIS MDA TELETHON
On September 4, 2011 Celine Dion took part at the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, an annual telethon in the United States to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This was the first edition without Jerry Lewis as host. This telethon edition was hosted by Nigel Lythgoe, Nancy O´Dell and Jann Carl and it was broadcasted on approximately 160 television stations throughout the USA. Celine´s appearance was via a pre-recorded video message and a perfomance from her residency show "Celine" at the Colosseum of the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, USA. On the pre-recorded video message, Celine talked about the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), and she dedicated her performance of the song "Open arms" for her long time friend, Jerry Lewis. Lady Antebellum, Jennifer Lopez, Darius Rucker, Martina McBride, Steven Tyler, Jon Secada, Randy Jackson, Richie Sambora, Jimmy Webb, Michael Feinstein, Maureen McGovern, Jordin Sparks as well as other artists also took part at this telethon.
CONCERT IN NEW YORK
On September 14, 2011 Celine Dion performed at the concert titled"Andrea Bocelli Live in Central Park", wich took place at the Great Lawn of the Central Park in New York, USA. Tony Bennett, Nicola Benedetti, Chris Botti, David Foster, Andrea Griminelli, Ana Marĺa Martĺnez, Bryn Terfel, Pretty Yende and The Westminster Symphonic Choir also took part on this concert by Andrea Bocelli and The New York Philharmonic, conducted By Alan Gilbert. Celine, wearing a Versace dress, performed the song "The prayer" in duet with Bocelli. This once-in-a-lifetime musical event will be recorded in HD (high definition) by Thirteen For Wnet. "Andrea Bocelli Live in Central Park" will also be released on CD and DVD by Sugar/Decca next November.
PRIVATE CONCERT
On December 8, 2011 Celine Dion performed at a private concert honoring Phil and Nancy Anschutz family, who were being honored at Collectors´ Choice 31, a black-tie gala that raised $730,000 for the Denver Art Museum in Denver, USA. One minute, John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was crooning some tunes in an elegantly appointed Ponti Hall and the next, the spotlight faded to black for a split second before amping back up to reveal that McEuen had exited the stage and Celine Dion was standing there, dressed in a sparkly evening gown with microphone in hand. A murmur went through the crowd as people recognized who was in their midst, and the audience quickly stood to applaud as the five-time Grammy winner acknowledged the friendship she shared with the Anschutz family before singing the one song "Because you loved me", and disappearing as quickly as she had appeared.
